Principal Message
June 7, 2021 Virtual/Hybrid Update

As we enter the final two weeks of the school year, I continue to be impressed by our teachers, our students, and their families. It truly has taken a village to achieve what we have this year. Over the past several weeks, many of our students have taken their respective Industry Certification Exams. Despite the challenges of virtual and hybrid learning, our students have been hugely successful in earning those certifications. Our students truly represent the best of Anne Arundel County Public Schools. To those students completing their programs with us this year, we wish you continued success in whichever pathway you choose to pursue. To our students returning to us next year, we look forward to welcoming you back, full time, in the fall and making up for lost time in our shops and labs.

looking to the next school year, we continue our journey of continuous improvement. To that end, the CAT South staff is working on the evolution of our Mission and Vision statements. A draft of these statements can be found below:

Our Vision…

…is to create a culture that empowers all students to become positive, contributing members of society with the ability to transition into the workforce and post-secondary education confidently and successfully.

Our Mission…

…is to prepare all our students for career pathways in the global marketplace by offering experiential learning, post-secondary credits, and industry certifications. Students will gain high-level technical, academic, and employability skills, equipping them to be lifelong learners and successful citizens, workers, and leaders in a global economy.

As stakeholders and members of the CAT South family, we value your input. If you have suggestions regarding our Vision or Mission statements, please send an email to asheinhorn@aacps.org. I wish all our students a strong finish to the school year and a safe and restful summer break. It certainly is well deserved.

Thank you,

Adam Sheinhorn
