Automotive Technology

Associated Licensing Available - ASE Certification and CFC

This is an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified Program by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

 

The Automotive Technology program is a two-year program that provides an opportunity for high school students to diagnose, repair, and service automobiles. The program is certified by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation in Maintenance and Light Repair. All students are tested in the areas of maintenance and light repair, electrical and electronics, brakes, steering and suspension, HVAC, automatic transmission, manual transmission and drivelines, engine repair, engine performance, and may receive ASE student certifications. In addition, all students receive Safety and Pollution Prevention (S/P2) training and certifications in Automotive Mechanical Safety and Pollution Prevention. Students enrolled in Level 1 of the program will concurrently be enrolled in Honors Pre-Engineering for one semester.

 

 Students may receive articulated credit through the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) based upon ASE test scores. A work-based learning experience is offered as well which often leads to successful careers in the automotive repair industry.
