2018-19 CAT-South Competes!

The Center of Applied Technology-South participates annually in all levels of SkillsUSA competition.  These competitions begin at the Local Level in Fall, in which CAT-South students compete against each other within the school.  The next level of competition, for those that qualify, are the Regionals which take place in February and include students from Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City.  We then go to the State level, where Regional qualifiers compete for their chance to advance to the Nationals, where Regional Gold Medal winners will compete in June in Louisville, KY.  As we advance through the Regional and State rounds, this is where we will update information on our competitors and qualifiers.  ALL CAT-South students are invited to join SkillsUSA and compete!  We look forward to a supportive and successful year for our student-competitors!

The SkillsUSA Maryland State Championships is the state-level competition for high school and post-secondary students who are enrolled in Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs.  Every year at the State Championship more than 1,000 Maryland CTE students compete in over 90 occupational and leadership skill events.

SkillsUSA Maryland heads to Louisville on June 24-29, 2019, for the 55th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), a showcase of career and technical education students. More than 16,000 people including students, teachers, business and industry partners from across the country are expected to participate in the weeklong event.
