Welcome To CAT-South
Virtual Learning Update – September 25, 2020
CAT South Families,
As our third week of virtual learning comes to a close, I wanted to update you on the “State of CAT South”. As we visit classrooms, it is very clear that our teachers and students are hitting their stride. Adapting to virtual learning has its unique challenges for us and I cannot say enough about the efforts of our teachers and your students. We have had two very successful days of materials distribution. Many of our teachers have sent home textbooks and materials kits to their students. Thank you to all our families for their patience in this process.
As we enter our fourth week, I want to clarify operations moving forward. CAT North will begin in-person instruction for a limited number of programs on Tuesday, September 29th. CAT South, however, will continue with virtual learning. If you recall, teachers and families were asked if they would be comfortable and safe resuming in-person learning. Staff and family responses at the two Centers of Applied Technology were significantly different. Our re-entry plan will continue to reflect the guidance of our county health department and focus on the health and safety of our staff and students.
Please continue to check back for additional updates. As our circumstances continue to change, I will immediately provide updates.
