Our School Counseling Department provides comprehensive services that contributes to the academic, personal, and social growth of each student. We also assist students in career and college planning through collaboration with staff, parents, home school counselors, and business community partners. The services we provide include academic planning, monitoring and advisement, parent conferencing, individual, group and classroom guidance, conflict/resolution peer counseling, college and career planning, and scholarship information and application assistance. The School Counseling Department is committed to empowering each student to achieve their maximum potential.

Announcements and Upcoming Events:

  • Applications are still being accepted for Career Explorations and Level I Magnet programs for second semester.

  • A minimum grade point average of 2.0 with good attendance as well as successful progress toward meeting other graduation requirements is expected for acceptance into a magnet program.

  • Level I Magnet applications for the 2011 -2012 school year will be available and completed on-line this year.  The priority application deadline will be from December 1, 2010 – March 15, 2011, however, applications will continued to be accepted after the March 15th deadline.  Additional and specific details of the application process are forth coming.

  • Students are encouraged to visit their Family Connection/Naviance website frequently to keep abreast of announcements and opportunities at their home schools.

  • The following educational institutions will be visiting CATS during the months of October – December:  PA College of Technology, Lincoln Technical Institute, Anne Arundel Community College, Community College of Baltimore City, Baltimore County Community College, The Art Institute, and Universal Technical Institute.

  • The next available SAT test will be administered on January 22nd.  The late registration deadline is January 7th .

  • The next available ACT test will be administered on February 12th.  The late registration deadline is January 21st.
